The first 68040 Mac, and Apple's most uncompromising professional desktop of its era. At $5,700, no expense was spared: onboard Ethernet, 20MB of RAM standard, NuBus expansion in a tower footprint. The Quadra 700 was designed to look like a professional instrument, not a consumer appliance, and it established the premium Mac workstation standard for the decade ahead.
