Sonnet G3 300MHz

Circa 1996Fully Operational

Historical Context

The Power Macintosh 6400, introduced in 1996, was significant as one of Apple’s mainstream consumer desktops during the company’s mid-1990s push into the home market. With its all-in-one bundle-friendly positioning and multimedia focus, it reflected Apple’s effort to make the Mac a practical family computer rather than just a school or professional machine.

The Story

Speaker doesn’t sound great. Contains Sonnet G3 CPU upgrade in the L2 cache slot, TV tuner card, video input and output, and Ethernet card, and an ATI Mach 64 PCI graphics card. Most of the value for this is in the L2 cache Sonnet Crescendo G3 CPU upgrade card (300MHz).
