Historical Context
The PowerBook 190cs was one of the last 68k PowerBooks before the PowerPC transition — a capable machine hamstrung by a processor that was already falling behind. Its 100 MHz 68LC040 was fast by 68k standards but slower than the PowerPC 5300 that replaced it. Reliable and well-regarded, the 190cs marked the end of an era.
