MacBook
13" Unibody
Historical Context
The 13-inch unibody MacBook marked the moment Apple brought the stronger, cleaner aluminum unibody construction from the MacBook Pro line into its mainstream notebook design, helping set the look and feel of Apple laptops for years afterward. Introduced in late 2008, it also sits at an important transition point in Apple history: a consumer Mac that still carried the simpler “MacBook” name, but clearly pointed toward the design language and build quality that would soon define nearly the entire notebook lineup.
